The Capricorn Foundation has launched a new programme aimed at helping vocational graduates start their own businesses.

The foundation said it has partnered with Unmatched Potential – Business Box Namibia to introduce the Vocational Graduate Entrepreneurship Programme in Swakopmund.

The programme will select 20 graduates from the Erongo Region who completed TVET qualifications at level 3 or 4 within the past one to five years.

Participants will go through a three-month training period where they will receive mentorship, practical business experience, and guidance to help them move from technical skills into business.

Head of Capricorn Foundation, Veripura Muukua, said: “Vocational graduates are at the heart of Namibia’s development story. With the Be Your Own Boss Programme, we are giving young people not only skills, but also real pathways to create opportunities for themselves.”

“This initiative is more than a mentorship programme; it is a commitment to building a thriving entrepreneurial culture that unlocks Namibia’s unmatched potential.” She said.

Founder and CEO of Unmatched Potential – Business Box Namibia, Etienne Raymond, said: “We believe that Namibians are talented and can create a world-class Namibia. Each person is unique, with a purpose and an entrepreneurial nature.”

He said the programme focuses on helping participants turn their skills into businesses, adding: “If mindsets shift from ‘I need’ to ‘I create’, meaningful, sustainable livelihoods can be established.”
