PRESIDENT Netumbo Nandi Ndaitwah has warned government agencies and ministries against underutilisation of allocated funds saying it compromises government projects.
She also called on civil servants to improve service delivery and shun corruption in all forms.
In a message to parliament read on her behalf by Prime minister Elijah Ngurare, Nandi-Ndaitwah said there is an urgent need for all public servants, including t h e members of parliament to double their efforts to deliver quality services.
“It is our resolve that no money should be returned to Treasury while projects a n d programs remain incomplete. In all 14 Regions, in all 121 constituencies, as the saying goes “the dust must be seen.” Therefore,

Ministers are under instructions to act urgently and decisively to ensure that all projects and programs are
implemented. Those found wanting in this regard, will be held accountable,” she said. Nandi-Ndaitwah said they must serve people with integrity, transparency and accountability.
“Let us work collectively towards a society where corruption is viewed as an act of treason. Within this context, the Government shall not tolerate corruption, delaying tactics and corridor hindrance, as it is business unusual,” she said.

The President added that, “We have no minute, no hour, no day, no week, no month to waste in the quagmire of bureaucracy. Anyone that s t a n d s in the way of effective service delivery will be swept away by the tidal wave of our uncompromising commitment to service delivery to the Namibian people.” She also called upon the Anti- Corruption Commission (ACC) and the prosecuting authorities to root out corruption in our country.
“The mandate given to us by the Namibian people to serve and deliver quality service remains our key priority. In this regard, all ministers are required to submit quarterly reports to measure progress of service delivery,” she said.
