Homegrown has officially launched its premier T-Shirt Design Competition, calling on young Namibian designers to submit original artwork for a chance to win N$50,000 in cash prizes.

The nationwide competition was announced on Monday and is open to all Namibian residents. According to the organisers, entries must be submitted through the official competition portal and the submission window will close on 21 March 2026.

The initiative aims to search for Namibia’s next creative entrepreneurs and help bridge the gap between raw talent and the commercial industry. The competition follows the success of the 2016 edition, which drew thousands of entries from across the country.

“Our goal is to foster a new generation of design-preneurs,” said spokesperson for Homegrown Clayton Jacobs

“We recognize that Namibia is overflowing with untapped creative potential. Homegrown provides the structure and the incentive for these young artists to see their work not just as art, but as a viable business opportunity. We are looking for the visionaries who will define the future of our urban fashion landscape.” Said Jacobs

Built on the philosophy “Design It! Wear It! Sell It!”, the competition aims to give young creatives a roadmap from artistic concept to market-ready enterprise. Homegrown says the focus is on creativity and commerce, helping young designers gain tools and visibility in Namibia’s growing fashion economy.

The competition is supported by partners including Stuttafords, Fresh FM, ZEST Restaurant and Promogenix Media.

After the submission deadline, the competition will move into a public voting phase, followed by a final judging panel made up of industry experts.

Homegrown is a Namibian urban lifestyle clothing brand established in 1996. The brand says it continues to support youth empowerment and the growth of Namibia’s creative industries through initiatives such as the Design a Tee Competition.
