OTESA Civil Engineering (Pty) Ltd (OTESA) have signed an agreement with the Namibian University of Science and Technology (NUST)) to provide internships for students.
Speaking at the MoU signing ceremony, OTESA Chief People and Culture Officer Rudolf Coetzee, said “This partnership reflects OTESA’s strategic vision to invest in Namibia’s future professionals by providing meaningful internship opportunities and exposure to real-world projects. By collaborating with NUST, we aim to equip students with the skills and experience necessary to excel in their careers, while simultaneously strengthening the talent pipeline for the construction and engineering sectors.”
According to the agreement NUST students will gain experience within OTESA’s operational environment, enhancing their professional competencies and readiness for the workforce.
The agreement focuses on civil engineering and quantity surveying programmes, it’s designed to extend to other academic fields in line with OTESA’s commitment to supporting broader educational and workforce development initiatives.
Deputy Vice-Chancellor of NUST, Teresia Kaulihowa, added: “This partnership with OTESA provides our students with invaluable exposure to industry practices, bridging the gap between theory and practice. It aligns with NUST’s commitment to equipping our graduates with the practical skills and professional insights they need to succeed in Namibia’s evolving workforce.”
This partnership underlines both organisations’ shared commitment to academic excellence, practical learning, and industry-relevant training, setting a strong precedent for future collaborative initiatives in Namibia’s higher education and construction sectors.
