The Namibia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI) Keetmanshoop Branch has elected a new executive Committee chaired by Desmund Desiderius Andreas
He will be deputised byBea Humphries. The other ordinary members of the committee include. Karl-Heinz Burger, Irene Laberloth, Elna Vries, Itite IlHoeseb, and Gwen Hanse.
Chairperson of the ||Kharas Regional Council,Joseph Isaacks, encouraged the business community to embrace collective organisation.
“In our culture, when you see two people, you are already speaking to twenty – so spread the message. Organisation is a need, because working in silos will never bring mass employment. Business is empowerment. Unlike formal employment where a salary remains fixed, entrepreneurship allows you to expand and grow your profits when you give it your best,” he said.
In his acceptance speech Andreas reminded attendees of the importance of unity and accountability.
“I will not be able to do this alone. What is important to remember is that our Branch chain is only as strong as its links. We must all support in recruiting new members and in bringing the challenges of the business community to the table. The only way to create a truly conducive environment is by coming together in an organised manner, working collectively, and upholding accountability,” he said.
