Shivute reappointed as NamRA Commissioner

The Namibia Revenue Agency (NamRA) Board has announced the re-appointment of Sam Shivute as Commissioner of the agency for a second five-year term.
The re-appointment, which was approved by Finance Minister Ericah Shafudah in line with Section 18 of the Namibia Revenue Agency Act, 2017 (Act No. 12 of 2017), will see Shivute continue in the role from 1 March 2026 to 28 February 2031.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the NamRA Board expressed gratitude to the minister and Cabinet for their continued confidence in Shivute’s leadership, commending his contribution to the agency’s institutional growth since its establishment.
“The Board congratulates Mr. Shivute on his re-appointment and commends him for his dedication. We trust that he will continue spearheading institutional growth and excellence, strengthening NamRA’s vision of becoming a world-class revenue agency,” said NamRA Board Chairperson Anna Nakale-Kav.
Shivute, who has led NamRA since its inception in 2021, is credited with steering the agency’s operational independence, revenue modernization, and compliance improvement efforts.
