Namibia has committed to the creation of improved investments in food production infrastructure.
According to the latest cabinet decisions the move is contained in the recommendations from the second Africa and Brazil dialogue on food security against hunger and rural development.
Part of the initiative is to highlight the transformation of food systems to be people centred and anchored in the human rights to adequate food and importance of family farming.
The move will also put emphasis on food systems to ensure food security for generations by balancing economic viability, and environmental protection, acknowledgement of the deep understanding of ecosystems and climate patterns held by indigenous people and local communities.
It also calls for greater investment in regional and continental integration in infrastructure of food production and Strengthening Brazil-Africa research innovative network.
