Meatco has reached its Norway export programme, achieving 45.2% quota utilisation by 17 April 2026.

Meatco’s Interim Chief Executive Officer, Ambassador Albertus Aochamub, said the achievement is not just a is not incremental progress but  a structural shift in how they  execute.

“Hitting 45% of our Norway quota by April sends a clear market signal: Meatco is no longer chasing opportunities,

We are capturing them. The premium market is responding, and we are converting that demand into real value for Namibia’s producers and the national economy,” he said.

Out of a total quota of 1,153,477 kg, Meatco has exported 521,017.59 kg, leaving a balance of 632,459.41 kg, the company said in a statement on Tuesday.

Meatco said this  represents a decisive improvement in execution compared to previous  29.2% in 2024 and 23.4% in 2025.

The company said the 2026 performance reflects a more than 50% increase on 2025 levels, marking a clear breakthrough in market delivery.

They added that the accelerated uptake is driven by strong demand in the Norwegian market, combined with sharper commercial execution, improved planning, and disciplined allocation of volumes.
