Standard Bank Namibia appointed Helena Mboti as Group Economist.
The bank said Mboti brings a decade of extensive experience across both central banking and commercial banking, offering a well-rounded and insightful perspective on macroeconomic policy, financial markets, and balance-sheet risk.
She previously served as an economist at Bank of Namibia in the Research Department and later as an Analyst in the Financial Stability Department. Her work encompassed monetary and financial statistics, macroprudential analysis, systemic risk assessment, and financial stability monitoring.
She has also held the economist role within the FirstRand Namibia Group across FNB/RMB, Ashburton, and Pointbreak, where she supported group-wide macroeconomic analysis and policy interpretation.
Mboti is expected to drive Standard Bank Namibia’s economic research agenda by delivering forward‑looking macroeconomic analysis, comprehensive risk assessments, and thought leadership.
Her expertise will support strategic planning, enhance economic intelligence across the institution, and strengthen engagement with key stakeholders in both the public and private sectors, the bank said.
