NAMIBIAN motorists will feel relief in their pockets following a decision by the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Energy to reduce the price of petrol by 30 cents per litre in June. A statement released by the ministry’s Chief Public Relations Officer , Ten Hashela confirmed that the prices of both diesel variants, diesel 50ppm and diesel 10ppm will decrease by 70 cents per litre.

The ministry cited strong performances by the Namibian dollar against the greenback and stable supplies by the Oil Producing Countries (OPEC) as the two key reasons behind the decision to reduce prices. “ The Ministry would like to communicate its June 2025 fuel price review decision as follows, the Ministry recorde over-recoveries of 36.467 cents per litre on petrol, over-recoveries of 79.608 cents per litre on diesel 50pp, over-recoveries of 87.383 cents per litre on diesel 10ppm,” Hashela said in a statement.
