President Nentumbio Nandi-Nandi Ndaitwah has urged the ruling Swapo party to continue pushing for genuine economic empowerment that delivers  economic transformation for Namibians.

She was speaking at the commemoration of the party’s 66 years of existence.

She said ‘times have changed, and so have the expectations of our people. Independence gave us political freedom.’

“Today, our people expect that freedom translates into opportunities, including jobs, access to land and housing, quality health care and education, and a dignified life.,” Nandi Ndaitwah said.

The President reiterated that it is critical for the Swapo  Party to remain focused, develop clear and implementable policies, and oversee their implementation in order to address the needs of our people.

“Now under the 8th Administration, the SWAPO Party’s vision is clearly defined in the SWAPO Party Election Manifesto 2025-2030.

It is, therefore, our responsibility to oversee its implementation. For us who are part of the public service and at any workplace in the country, timely, quality, effective service delivery must continue to be our password,” she said.
