Namibian Ambassador to France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Monaco, and Permanent Delegate to UNESCO, the UN World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO), Albertus Aochamub says he has not been engaged on the possibility of taking over as Meat Corporation of Namibia (Meatco) Chief Executive Officer.
The company has been in the media for all the wrong reasons from missing cattle under its watch to perennial loss making situations.
This comes after a few media reports linked him to the top job.
Aochamub is also Ambassador to the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE).
“ Unfortunately I cannot be of much help since I do not have any communication with regard to what seems to be trending news,” he told Namibia Business Review from his French base on Monday.
On Sunday the Presidency dismissed reports of Aochamub coming back home to take up the top job as unverified.
“ The Presidency is aware of reports circulating regarding the alleged recall of Ambassador Albertus !Aochamub from his posting in France and his subsequent appointment as Chief Executive Officer of Meatco. At this time, we would like to clarify that this information has not been verified, and no official communication has been released on this matter. We urge the public and media to await confirmation through the appropriate official channels,” said the Presidency.
