The Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST) has appointed two new Deputy Vice-Chancellors, marking what the Council calls “an important milestone” in advancing the institution’s strategic direction.
In a media release issued on Friday the Council announced that Colin Stanley has been appointed as Deputy Vice-Chancellor: Research, Innovation and Partnerships, while Teresia Kaulihowa will serve as Deputy Vice-Chancellor: Teaching, Learning and Technology.
According to the statement, the appointment follows “a rigorous and transparent recruitment process” approved during the Council meeting held on Thursday, 27 November 2025. Both officials will assume duty on 1 February 2026.
The Council said the appointments reaffirm NUST’s dedication to academic excellence and institutional growth. “These appointments reflect the Council’s commitment to ensuring that NUST continues to excel as a leading institution of higher learning in Namibia and the region,” the statement read.
It said that both Stanley and Kaulihowa bring “extensive academic expertise, leadership experience, and proven track records in their respective fields,”.
Nust noted that their insights will help drive impactful research, strengthen academic excellence and advance digital transformation at the university.
Council Chairperson Dr Leake Hangala congratulated the two leaders and also thanked all candidates who participated in the recruitment process.
