Proflight Zambia will launch a flight between Kenneth Kaunda International Airport and Hosea Kutako International Airport) three times a week, a statement released by Air Connect on Tuesday says.
The flight will run via Harry Mwaanga Nkumbula International Airport in Livingstone, starting from 3 March 2026.
A statement released by Namibia Airports Company (NAC) Chief Executive Officer and Air Connect spokesperson Bisey /Uirab said the flight is more than just a connection of the two countries.
The flight will operate on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
Kamati said the route is expected to enhance tourism, trade and investment between Namibia and Zambia.
/Uirab said Zambia is one of Windhoek’s largest African origin-destination (OD) markets, with an estimated 10 000 two-international passengers in 2024 – a 14% increase on 2023.
“We warmly welcome Proflight Zambia to Namibia and congratulate them on this timely and vital regional route. The new route is more than a connection between two countries, it is a powerful catalyst for regional integration, economic synergy and deeper ties between the people of Southern Africa,” he said.
He added that the service will cater to business and leisure travellers.
Kamati said Lusaka and Windhoek are rapidly emerging as leading aviation hubs, fuelling greater connectivity and regional cooperation across the SADC region.
The statement added that Livingstone provides travellers with convenient access to the iconic Victoria Falls.
The statement said the route announcement aligns with the goals of Air Connect Namibia’s mandate and strategy to increase air accessibility and promote the country as a regional aviation hub.
The project is the result of ongoing collaboration between public and private stakeholders including the NAC, the Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB), Gondwana Collection, Namibia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI), Walvis Bay Corridor Group, Namibia Tourism Board (NTB), and the City of Windhoek.
