A former Bank Windhoek employee, Heidi Boois (49) who was arrested over the weekend  in connection with the alleged National Petroleum Corporation of Namibia (Namcor) corruption case appeared in court on Monday, Future Media Reports.

She is the latest suspect and brings the total number of accused persons to 12.

The twelve are facing various charges including siphoning millions of dollars from the state owned petroleum company for suspected personal use.

According to a Future Media report, Boois faces five charges, including fraud, forgery, and uttering. 

She made her first court appearance in the Windhoek Magistrate’s Court on Monday, where she was represented by Kadhila Amoomo.

The case against Boois follows a series of arrests made last year linked to the same matter.

The case was postponed to 6 February, and Boois was remanded in custody.

The key suspects in the case are Immanuel Mulunga, Former Namcor Managing Director of Namcor , Jennifer Hamukwaya Former Namcor Executive, Cornelius “Cedric” Willemse , former Namcor Supply Executive, Olivia Dunaiski (Namcor Executive, Peter and Malakia Elindi, Businessmen brothers linked to Enercon and  Leo Nandago Stefanus.

Another suspect Victor Malima remains at large with an active warrant of arrest
