The Social Security Commission (SSC) has confirmed the appointment of Ben T. Nangombe as its Acting Executive Officer for six months, effective 3 August 2026.
The confirmation follows a report by Namibia Business Review last month that Nangombe had been seconded from the Ministry of Justice and Labour Relations to take over the leadership of the commission.
In a statement issued today, the SSC said Nangombe had been seconded to the commission for a period of six months.
“Mr Nangombe will serve as the Acting Executive Officer of the Social Security Commission for a period of six months effective 3 August 2026,” the commission said.
The SSC said Nangombe brings valuable experience and leadership to the commission.
“During his tenure, he will provide strategic leadership and oversee the day-to-day operations of the SSC,” it said.
The commission welcomed Nangombe and said it looked forward to his leadership and contribution during his tenure.
“We congratulate Mr Nangombe on his secondment and wish him every success in his new role,” the SSC said.
Nangombe takes over the acting role following the end of Milka Mungunda’s tenure as Executive Officer after 10 years at the helm of the commission.
