Nandi -Ndaitwah appoints seven new ambassadors

Ministry does not depend on the person-Nandi-Ndaitwah says after firing Ithete 
Namibia to electrify 210 000 households in four years

President Netumbo Nandi-ndaitwah has appointed seven new ambassadors to be deployed immediately.

The seven are Walde Ndevasshiya to Nigeria, Alfredo Hengari to Belgium,Goms Menette to Zambia, Ndiyakupi Nghituwamata to Ghanan, Rosina //Hoabes to Japan, Weich Murcle Uapendura Mupya to Egypt and David Thomas to Zimbabwe.

The president said they must focus on economic diplomacy.

“Economic diplomacy is an important pillar of our international relations and overall diplomacy. The merger between international relations and trade was avery carefully considered and a deliberate action, to ensure that Economic Diplomacy and Investment Promotion take centre stage in the pursuit of Namibia’s growth at home for prosperity for all,” the president said after appointing the ambassadors on Monday.

She said the ambassadors are expected  to deepen longstanding bonds of friendship and people- to-people contact and further strengthen the bilateral relations and cooperation with the countries of accreditation.

“We live in the digital age. With the fast pace of information circulation, you will be expected to keep the Headquarters abreast with important updates on your undertakings and engagements.

“You must be analytical in your reporting with clear well thought recommendations. Be fully aware that whatever you send home as part of your report will shape the future cooperation between our country and your host country,” said the President.
